Starsector Pt. 51 - Rebellion Mechanics, Someone's Getting Fired For This

After the Sindrian Diktat military loses fleet after fleet after fleet trying to hold onto the system and raze Mesa to the regolith, I can't help but feel that someone at their high command is getting fired over this. It seems at some point I might've triggered an event, too, because one of their officers actually contacts me when I interact with the Diktat-held Amazon colony, pointing out an opportunity to "help him save the Diktat." Looks like a questline, which I doubt I'll have much time to deal with right now.

Because it's time for Rebellion mechanics! In Nexerilin, Rebellions happen when Stability gets too low, or right after a successful Invasion, where rebels continue to fight on after the new government takes power. Trading in the open market at that point strengthens the government, while the black market strengthens the rebels. To wit, I drop 200 units of Heavy Armaments right into the rebels' laps, giving them crew-served weapons, mechs, tanks & hovercraft. I'll probably dump a lot more on them, too.

Factions who are enemies to the holder of a world with an active Rebellion will send Smugglers to it to support the rebels, while those who are allied (or at least friendly) may send Relief fleets to raise Stability, thus strengthening the government. If the rebels win, the original holder of the world takes it over again.
