Young leaders launch platform to help Arunachal students speak up and shine
The inaugural edition of ‘Let’s Speak Arunachal’, a youth-driven initiative aimed at promoting public speaking and civic engagement among students, was held at Boum Kakir Mission School here on Thursday.
The event, themed "Empowering Youth Voices, Building Future Pathways", saw enthusiastic participation from students and educators. It is spearheaded by Porsum Ori (25), a public speaker and emcee, and Tana Jiri (22), the state-level winner of the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025.
Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Tesam Pongte attended the event as chief guest, while Namsai MLA Zingnu Namchoom was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Pongte said such platforms are essential to help young people realise their potential and contribute meaningfully to society.
“Children of Arunachal can reach new heights if given platforms like these to showcase and develop their talents,” he said.
Founder Porsum Ori said the initiative was envisioned to build confidence and leadership in youth by improving their communication skills.
“Our main aim is to empower the youth, enhance their communication skills, and cultivate leadership and civic engagement through meaningful conversations,” he said.
Tana Jiri, who serves as the secretary of the initiative, said the team plans to expand their workshops to reach more students, especially in government schools.
“This was our inauguration ceremony, and we had a wonderful engagement with the students through interactive workshops,” she said.
The organisers said more outreach sessions are in the pipeline as part of their mission to engage youth across the state in constructive dialogue and leadership-building activities.
