Half the year my wife and I are sailing the Caribbean in a wooden ketch we built ourselves back in the 1980's. When we started building, it should be a gem. Pretty soon the goal was lowered to a decent, practical boat. Now, after 36 years, a circumnavigation and countless smaller trips, our goal is to have a safe, practical boat. Some repairs are made fast and dirty. Our main goal is to keep sailing. Still we are constantly approached by peoples that express admiration for the boat. Despite all the spotless, expensive yahts in the harbour, ours is usually the main interest. There is something about an old fashion, shaggy boat that appeals to peoples.
My first videos are about a repair of a damaged mast, and how it can be done singlehanded on the water.
