Mangroves are an amazing group of trees. They include walking trees, live children and intelligent propagation. But the most impressive part is their ability to drink salt water. While other trees near the shore have a hard time during the dry seasons, the mangrove can be as lush and green as ever because their water supply never runs dry. So why don’t every tree at the seaside drink salt water? That is because this is a very difficult task, requiring a lot of energy. Normally salt water is poison to plants. But the mangroves have found ways to do it. In the Caribbean there are 4 common types of mangroves. The video explains how to recognize each of them. I also hope to show the beauty of the mangrove forest.
