DJ Gilgamesh

"Some of my $hit might have scratches, but that's because I played the hell out of it."

DJ Gilgamesh’s musical journey began in the early '90s, spinning vinyl at house parties in and around Los Angeles with his cousins. These grassroots gatherings ignited his passion for mixing and led him deep into LA’s underground techno and house scenes. There, he discovered the hypnotic pull of Detroit techno—a sound that would shape his identity as a DJ. Over the years, he performed at various venues and had the rare opportunity to meet and learn from pioneers like Carl Craig, Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Kenny Larkin, Stacey Pullen, Aphex Twin, and Delano Smith. In the mid-2000s, Gilgamesh stepped back from DJing to pursue photojournalism—another outlet for storytelling. But his devotion to vinyl and Detroit sound never faded. Today, he continues to collect, experiment, and share mixes online—bridging analog and digital with uncompromising soul.
