Last week, I began debate on Bill S-207, An Act to amend the Criminal Records Act.
This bill proposes long-overdue reforms to Canada’s criminal record system to better support people in moving on from past convictions and rebuilding their lives.
By helping more people access jobs, housing, and community supports, Bill S-207 represents a step toward decolonizing Canada’s criminal legal system — saving human, social, and financial costs, and strengthening our communities in the process.
