Welcome to 23rd episode on Shalabhasana (Grass hopper/Locust pose). Shalabha means Grass hopper or Locust; Asana means posture. It helps to build lower body & core strength, drains the fluid retention in legs thus helping in varicose veins.
BENEFITS:
• Builds strength in the lower back, arms & shoulders
• Stimulates swadhisthana chakra
• Increases the digestive fire
• Recommended for relieving sciatica & lower backache.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
• Avoid practicing Shalabhasana if you are pregnant & recently underwent abdominal surgeries, such as for hernia.
