The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Dean Macpherson, together with the Deputy Minister, Sihle Zikalala, and the Deputy Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Bantu Holomisa, handed over the completed Welisizwe Bridge to the community of Emaxesibeni in the Alfred Nzo District.
Residents have gathered in large numbers to witness this significant service delivery milestone. The bridge stands as a symbol of restored dignity, improved access, and safer connectivity for the people.
The successful completion and handover of the Tebe Tebe rural bridge at EmaXesibeni underscores the Government’s unwavering commitment to accelerating infrastructure development in underserved communities.
The Welisizwe Bridges Programme is an initiative between the National Department of Public Works and Infrastructure, the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), and all designated implementing partners, ensuring coordinated delivery and sustainable impact.
