ASMR College Radio (page turning, paper smoothing, soft speaking)

I've been looking for a good excuse to work up some paper smoothing triggers ever since I completely forgot to do them for the "Even More ASMR Maps" video, which was my original intent.

A few ideas came and went, and then, while looking for something else, I came across a long-forgotten artifact - a cassette tape of my last college radio show. Very strange hearing my own voice speak to me from 28 years ago!

So in this video, I go down a bit of a nostalgic rabbit hole while showing you a few trinkets from my college radio days, including the source of the paper triggers: A "radio log" assembled by one of my listeners over the three years that I was on the air.

If you want to skip right to the paper triggers, they start at 29:00 and end at 1:13:35 (although I do some soft speaking through that section, too).

I told Chris in my interview for The Dirty Nerdy Show that I thought that producing content for an ASMR channel and doing streams feels SO MUCH like playing music on a low-power college radio station. As I talked through these memories, I realize the connect is even stronger than I realized.

I still remember the thrill of picking songs and sharing them with a mostly anonymous audience, sending out little slices of me, and trying, for those two hours each week, to put just a little of my identity out into the universe. In so many ways, I'm doing the same with Gaslamp ASMR, 28 years later.
