The Sink Broke, The Toilet is Gone, but She's Finally Ready! Ep.15

I started this video looking at old footage of my sailing lessons—back when I thought sailing was all about perfect trim, sunny days and glam. Then, reality hit me in the face!!!

In this episode, I’m pulling back the curtain on what it actually takes to bring a Jeanneau Sun Fizz 40 back to life and get it ready for splashing. It’s not glamorous. In fact, mostly, it’s just things breaking.

The Demolition: Ripping up the floorboards and discovering the reality beneath.

The Accidents: That moment the galley sink literally detached from the counter (you can't make this up).

The "Facilities": Living with a missing toilet bowl.

The Grind: Fiberglassing, painting the anchor chain, and a DIY internet antenna hacks because staying connected is hard and this is the way we like it.

But it’s not all bad news. With the help of some stray dogs and cats keeping me company, I finally get to the rewarding part: Polishing the hull, servicing the engine, and the big moment—officially changing the boat's name.

The Ending: Before the big launch, I take a trip through the rural roads to visit family, witnessing the devastating impact of the recent big storm on the land—a sobering reminder of nature's power before I head back to the water. I also get to see Meteora which is beautiful!

Next Week: The boat is ready, and it’s time to splash!!!! Whoooohoo!! I am absolutely terrified.
