Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) is a common condition seen in most patients admitted to hospital. In this video we understand why creatinine is used to diagnose AKI and how it is a good indicator of kidney function.
We then go over the different causes of AKI (Pre-renal, Intrarenal, Post-renal) in detail, highlighting some of the most common causes, such as kidney stones, acute tubular necrosis, congestive heart failure, etc...
