This was one of my wildest adventures to date. Super grateful I have the time, ability, and friendships to visit one of America's historic climbing areas and hit one of the most iconic routes. Some intense runout on pitch 3, but overall a ton of fun!!
In this video, JJ and I climb the Kor-Ingalls route (5.9+) on Castleton Tower in Castle Valley, Utah, a quick 30 minute drive from Moab. This is my full POV ascent, showing every pitch the way it actually feels, from the squeezes, the wide sections, the crux on Pitch 3, and the final push up the face to the summit.
The video starts with the hike in, views of Castleton from the saddle, and then jumps right onto the wall. I added small notes and beta throughout the climb so you can get a better sense of the gear, the movement, and the decisions you actually make while climbing this route in real time.
If you’re planning to climb Kor-Ingalls or just like watching POV desert tower climbing, this will give you a realistic look at what the route is like from bottom to top!! Thanks for watching!
