This is an attempt to revive an over discharged Acer laptop battery Acer10D75.
While in the laptop, no power (dead) when press the laptop power button.
It is very important to resist plugging the power adapter to the laptop, to see if it will charge.
It will just lock the battery as fail, since the cells are below the " acceptable" low voltage.
I had to disassembly the battery to see the way it was connected inside.
Regular rectangular batteries have the + and - terminal on the sides of the pack.
This one had other pattern, see the video.
Pre-charge slowly with 1mA current until each cell reach 2.5V then 30 mA until 3.3V
Then plug the battery in the laptop an plug in the charger and chances are it will work.
If any attempt was made before to charge the already drained battery, using the laptop and the power supply, chances are it may be already locked as failure.
My example was perfect, nobody will try to plug in and recharge a broken screen laptop, so I was sure it will be a success.
Going from pre-charge to regular BMS charging ( in the laptop) is only possible once.
If the BMS is awaken, any unusual cell voltage increase will be detected and may lock the pack.
The actual remaining useful capacity of the battery may vary largely, depending how long it was left in a deep discharge state.
Once the battery awaken if the capacity is not satisfactory the cells can be swapped, using a ghosting type of process, to prevent the BMS to lock.
The usual disclaimer, this is an educational video and it's at your own risk to do what you see in the video.
