Come and join me on my journey to rebuild this Stellantis piece of sh** 1.2 Puretech engine from the wife's Peugeot 308 SW.
This engine now has done around 170.000 km. I did the timing belt and cleaned out the oil strainer only 2 months after we bought it secondhand. It had a full servicehistory before we got it, since it was a lease car, but it still developed major issues.
After changing the timing belt it's oil consumption has gone through the roof, sometimes needing 1 litre of oil in as little as 1000 km.
Researching this issue has led me to believe the piston rings are fouled up and not doing their function properly anymore.
At one time, I also noticed coolant level was low and after adding coolant it was apparent there was traces of oil in the coolant as well and it had a black colour.
Let's find out if we can salvage this engine, or if it needs to be scrapped. As some people claim these are throw away engines, not worth rebuilding...
