Principles of Anterior Ribcage Expansion

This video is in response to a question I received concerning the best exercises to do for anterior (forward) ribcage expansion. This question came as a follow-up to video I did previously regarding posterior (backward) ribcage expansion ( • Wall Reaching for Posterior "Pump Handle" ... ).
In the video I touch on 3 major principles that need to be considered when attempting to improve this action:
1. Use gravity - prone and quadruped positions where the hips are higher than shoulders assist this expansion
2. Don't "over pec" - keep the pec muscles relaxed when performing any activities where the arms reach forward by biasing shoulder external rotation.
3. Promote shoulder flexion at 90, extension and hand behind back while maintaining postural control at the head, ribcage and pelvis.
