Glutes are the largest muscle group in the body. They're comprised of slightly more slow twitch fibers than fast twitch fibers. But, this doesn't mean we should ignore the fast twitch fibers, as they're the most apt to grow! They're also fuller and rounder. By working in some athletic exercises along with controlled negatives, you'll target the fast twitch portion of the glutes and have a fun and challenging training session!
Here are the exercises in the video:
Kettlebell swings – be sure to use the kettlebell on the ground and hinge at the hip
High box step ups – choose a box that allows your upper leg to start at above parallel to the ground
Contralateral load lunges – push yourself back to the starting position using just your glutes
Landmine Bulgarian split squats – set bench 2 heel-toes from the end of the bar. Lean forward slightly.
B-stance RDLs – use a weight that's 50-60% of what you'd normally use and keep your back flat
Aim for 3-4 sets of 10-12 reps for each!
