Grenzen und Begegnen: Bildungsradreise durch das historische Memelland und Kleinlitauen 2025

🇩🇪 Ostsee links, Geschichte rechts – Gegenwind von vorn.

18 Studentinnen und Studenten, Multiplikatorinnen und Multiplikatoren aus Litauen und Deutschland begaben sich vom 26. Juli bis 3. August 2025 auf eine außergewöhnliche Bildungsradreise durch das historische Memelland.

Zwischen Gedenkorten, Gesprächsrunden und quietschenden Fahrradketten entstanden neue Perspektiven auf ein europäisches Grenzland voller Erinnerung.

🇬🇧 Baltic Sea to the left, history to the right – and a headwind straight ahead.

From 26 July to 3 August 2025, 18 students and multipliers from Lithuania and Germany embarked on an extraordinary educational cycling tour through the historic region of Memelland.

Between sites of remembrance, roundtable discussions and squeaking bicycle chains, new perspectives emerged on a European borderland shaped by memory.

The project is a collaboration between the Deutsche Gesellschaft e. V., the German Cultural Forum for Eastern Europe, and the International Students of History Association (ISHA), with the kind support of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and the Centre Against Expulsions.
