I’d like to share a recent recording of “Behold the Lamb of God” by Martin Willett. This recording comes from the 5pm Mass on 11/22/25 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Featured is Beth Haag on piano and me on vocals.
Typically, this hymn is a Communion Hymn. This is due to the fact that the words, “Behold the Lamb of God” are said during Mass. This phrase accompanies the moment of transubstantiation (transferring from one substance to another). What is seen as Bread and Wine, spiritually, becomes the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
I don’t know if it’s true. But there is something to be said of a ritual that repeats weekly throughout your life. Central to this ritual is the object which is the nourishment of my longing, the focus of my adoration and my most dependable hope. This brings validation to the phrase “Happy are those who are called to the Supper of the Lamb”.
