SPNG 18 was first built by Baldwin in 1911 for the Nevada California Oregon railway. In May of 1928, it was bought by the Southern Pacific and was used on their narrow gauge line until 1954. Since its complete restoration in 2017, the 18 has visited the Durango and Silverton, Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City, NV, and Laws, California.
Trainz content used from from TrainzForge, Ben Neal, Sunset Trainz Works, Cascade Trainz Works, The Roundhouse, JointedRail, The Huntington Shops, K&L Trainz, Prowler Trainz, Franky’s Trainz Works, and many more.
SPNG/NCO 8, 9, and 18 are private models, base model from TrainzForge. NCO and SPNG yard dioramas are private as well.
This video isn’t meant to be historically accurate. Also, I understand this video was rushed. I meant to say 18 at the GWSU event marked the first time it steamed up in Nevada in 80 years since it left Mina in 1938. Also, I don’t have the Durango Silverton route or a module of Laws, California which is why some clips are messy. But nonetheless, I hope you enjoy this video of SPNG 18.
All SPNG 18, V&T 25, NCRY 2-6-2 3 and C&TL&F Glenbrook sounds in the video were recorded by me and my family
