In this video we visit Seaford, the modern terminus of the Seaford line in Adelaide's south. Seaford opened in February 2014 as part of the Seaford Rail Extension which constructed a 5.7km extension of the Noarlunga Centre line, including two new stations at Seaford Meadows and Seaford, and the longest rail bridge in Australia over the Onkaparinga Valley.
At the station we see some Adelaide Metro 4000 Class EMU's, as well as various buses operated by Southlink, mostly Scania K280UB's with a Scania K230UB and a MAN 18.280 HOCL-NL. Much like a number of larger modernised stations in Adelaide, Seaford features easy cross-platform interchange between train & bus services.
Despite being a new station, Seaford isn't the first station to be built on the site. A section of the extension was built on the alignment of the former Willunga line, with Seaford being built in close proximity to the former Moana station. The rail reserve south of the station still exists which may be used one day to extend the line further south towards Aldinga.
