In this video various characteristics of a solvent used in UV-VISIBLE spectroscopy are explained.
The characteristics are:
1. The solvent must be transparent in the wavelength range being examined.
2. There should not be any change in fine structure of absorption band.
3.It should not change the value of absorption maximum.
4. There should be no chemical reaction between sample and the solvent.
