This week Rick returns as we play through the beach landings of Operation Avalanche as my Hampshire Regiment land on the beach near Salerno to start the allied invasion of Italy.

Little did I know that Ricks Panzer Grenadier division is well defended , well prepared and well support by a veteran armoured force hastley making their way the front to fight of the 8th army beach landing.

The Allied force has to take the beach and secure a path for the second wave, whilst the Germans must hold the beach at all costs. In this battle for Salerno we use an adapted version of envelopment to celreate the objectives for both forces, the British need to race up the beach, scoring points the further I ger, the Germans simply have to remove as many dice as they can, the winner takes the field.

Another great battle, fantastic board and a few laughs and banter along the way…
…but who will win, watch and see!
