Eastern Front Operation Bagration: Soviets v Germans, 1250 points

This week Stewart and I fight it out over a Soviet village in a battle report set to part of the push in Operation Bagration.

Can I hold the village for the German and hinder the Soviet advance, or can Stewart’s advance mobile army take the Germans unawares and force them further west.

Eastern Front | World War II:
The Eastern Front in 1944 was dominated by massive Soviet offensives, most notably Operation Bagration in the summer, which shattered German Army Group Centre, leading to huge territorial gains and pushing the Red Army deep into Poland and towards Germany, while other Soviet forces advanced into the Balkans, forcing Romania and Bulgaria to switch sides; German forces were increasingly overwhelmed, suffering catastrophic losses and being pushed back to the borders of East Prussia by the year's end, signaling the inevitable collapse of the Third Reich on the Eastern Front.

Operation Bagration (Summer 1944): The defining event, a massive Soviet offensive against German Army Group Centre in Belarus, resulting in the destruction of multiple German armies and freeing vast swathes of territory.
