Whether you’re practicing Crow Pose on its own or transitioning into it through a vinyasa, this challenging arm balance can be fun when you know how to practice it properly.
In this tutorial, we show you how to do BAKASANA / CROW POSE WITH STRAIGHT ARMS from Ashtanga Yoga’s Intermediate Series, which is practiced in a couple vinyasas in the Primary Series as well. You’ll learn the traditional vinyasa cues for both instances in which you’ll encounter this pose, with modifications to help make it more accessible as you work toward the full expression. You’ll understand how to position your hands, how to engage through your arms, where your knees should rest, and how to position your back. The various tips for alignment and options to modify will help you practice this posture safely and in a way that feels good in your body.
