Ex-B.R. Diesels on the Settle & Carlisle

A compilation showing ex-British Railways diesels on the Settle & Carlisle railway between 2013 and 2024. Classes included are:

Class 37 (English Electric Type 3)
Class 40 (English Electric Type 4)
Class 43 (High Speed Train/Midland Pullman)
Class 45 (Sulzer Type 4/Peak)
Class 47 (Brush Type 4)
Class 55 (Deltic), including D9009 Alycidon

Locations are Horton, Ribblehead, Blea Moor, Blea Moor Tunnel, Arten Gill, Dent Station, Rise Hill Tunnel, Garsdale, Dandrymire Viaduct, Moorcock Tunnel/Lunds viaduct, Shotlock Tunnel, Ais Gill, Birkett Tunnel, Birkett Common, Waitby and Smardale. The locos were working a variety of specials, including the Staycation Express of 2021 and 2022.
