Lindsey Criswell, MD, MPH, DSc, is vice chancellor for research and the Jean S. Engleman Distinguished Professor of Rheumatology in the UCSF Department of Medicine, as well as a professor in the Department of Orofacial Sciences in the UCSF School of Dentistry.
A renowned researcher in human autoimmune disease, Dr. Criswell’s investigations focus on the genetics and epidemiology of human autoimmune disease, particularly rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. She has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific papers, and her efforts have contributed to the identification of more than 30 genes linked to these and other autoimmune disorders.
