SMS Lines: Baldwins Switching In 4K!

Baldwins Switching. Perhaps no railroad is more closely affiliated with present day operation of Baldwin diesels than SMS Lines. This operation in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania is one of several operated by SMS Lines in three different states. Now 29 years old, the company's Pureland, New Jersey shops performs the heavy maintenance and overhaul on its fleet of EMDs, GEs and Baldwins to support these locations. On Wednesday, September 20, 2023, the crew was handling a few local customers in beautiful afternoon light using both locomotives, SLRS 301 ("Ed Weller", S12, Baldwin, 6/1953) and SLRS 308 (S12, Baldwin, 11/1953).
