Star Wars XvT Rescue from Imperial Prison Ship Dargon Y-Wing Gold Pov Hard Difficulty Deathless

This is one of the hardest missions in the game to do in the bomber role, if not the hardest. When you fly this mission in an X-Wing or A-Wing, you get 12 total Y-Wings doing the disabling: when you fly as the Y-Wing you get 4. You get no countermeasures, cannot change your craft as the B-Wing is unavailable, and your loadout is locked so you cannot change your warheads.

Normally I do not like to disable craft to beat a mission, but in this one given the aforementioned circumstances. You have to dogfight your way out, there is no other way. Your initial warhead load isn't sufficient to take down the Dargons' shields, and if you make it there the Assault Gunboats would simply shred you, then the T/A would kill your second wave quickly as they cut through your X-Wings and A-wings in no time.

I ordered all craft to await further orders so that I could take out T/A Delta without anyone else shooting at them, then took out the Assault Gunboats and hypered out. I then disabled the T/A so I wouldn't have to deal with them, as there was only one heavily damaged X-Wing left and if I destroyed them they would all be focusing me, then disabled the Dargon.

Only then did I have my wingman begin to kill the T/A one the ATR's arrived, but not all at once so that they didn't get overwhelmed by them. Kill the T/A quickly so they don't kill all your ATR's, then wait. I got all of the kills in this mission.
