Lower back pain is a common issue that cheerleaders deal with. The combination of stunting and tumbling leads to a huge amount of lower back usage. If not used properly, the lower back can become injured and the spine is at risk for serious injury.
Athletes are also usually scared to tell coaches and parents that their back is hurting and this chronic issue becomes something that eventually lead to surgery.
These are exercises that we use in the clinic to help cheer athletes rehab lower back pain and get them back on the mat. If you are suffering with lower back pain, make sure to get it checked by your healthcare provider and if safe to do so, try these exercises to get rid of your pain too!
