BIOGRAPHY
Lara Beauchamp, MS, CCC-SLP, ATP, is a senior speech-language pathologist and assistive technology specialist at
Playworks Therapy in Arlington, Virginia. Lara has more than 12 years of experience working in both adult and pediatric
rehabilitation, providing evaluations and therapy to clients with complex communication needs. She is well versed in
developing speech-language-feeding plans of care, involving all family members and associated professionals to
ensure an interdisciplinary and holistic approach to therapy.
For the last eight years, Lara has focused primarily on augmentative, alternative communication (AAC). In this capacity,
she administers AAC evaluations, offers speech-generating device recommendations, and drafts AAC letters of
medical necessity. Lara is dedicated to AAC across the lifespan, always thinking long-term and understanding that
communication and AAC are constantly evolving.
Lara earned her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and
received her bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from the University of Florida. In addition to her
ATP certification, Lara is Beckman Oral Motor certified, PROMPT trained, and SOS trained.
