Is it ok for your joints to pop like this during a range of motion?
In our experience this is one of the worst things you can do. Muscles are supposed to support every range of motion we do. So when you hear these clicks and pops it’s a clear indication your muscles aren’t supporting your joints correctly.
Despite the muscles this guy has on his body, he is dealing with a classic case of fake joint stability. He has all the mobility and flexibility, without the joint stability that all these exercise routines are meant to give you.
Look, we aren’t aiming to be nit picky and hurt peoples feelings, although it’s clear these influencers injure themselves doing the same things they promote on social media. If we don’t up the standard customers will continue to get horrible service, which completely defeats the purpose of us being in the fitness industry.
Dealing with injury and pain during exercise is not normal. And this is a problem we see all the time with coaches that promote these fake flexibility and mobility routines. Overly lengthening their muscles and ligaments only to end up with unstable joints.
If you move correctly like we do at FP, you can teach joints how to create stability when they move too much or create movement when they’re stuck and don’t move enough. All without sacrificing joint health in the process.
