Guest race with the Toyo Tyres 7 series, mixed grid with the faster 310 cars. I qualified 19th overall (out of 42 cars), 1st in the 270 class.
Rolling start, surrounded by 310's, I mostly held position until Tom Wyllys (also in a 270) came by , he was absolutely flying and deserved the class win but sadly DNF'd after contact with a 310.
Finished 1st in class and 19th overall. I managed another class win in Race 2 later in the day so a great result!
Watching back and chatting to other drivers, I was downshifting and using 3rd gear for several of the fast corners on the GP loop where others were staying in 4th, I was loosing ground fairly consistently around these corners so maybe something to consider for next time.......
