60009 Union Of South Africa & WRC Class 33207 Jim Martin on The Swanage Belle 13th September 2018

Today on this beautiful and cloudless morning I travelled down to my first location Clapham Junction to film A4 number 9 Union Of South Africa, which was again run by The Railway Touring Company. This time WRC has sent diesel locomotive Class 33207 Jim Martin to assist Union. Once again due to congestion problems in London area number 9 was running 6 minutes late and locomotive was first seen with blast of steam passing through Longhedge Junction and Lavender Hill Junction, she approached the station nicely until the unexpected happen, she was due to pass Clapham on Platform 5 until Network Rail made last minute change over and sent Union to pass on Platform 6, which was a bit disappointment because would of been great shot of loco passing me and long straight view towards Wandsworth Town.

On return journey had bit of a change of plans to my second location at last minute, my original location was on the bridge at Southampton Freemantle but due to gang of youths were hanging around on the bridge and causing a nuisance 20 minutes before Union was due, so I had to abandon that location and made quick dash to Southampton Central train station and made it with only 10 minutes to spare, as i didn't had no tripod with me I had no choice but to film it hand held.
Union was delayed by 15 minutes and Class 33207 bring the train in at 19:37 to put the train in reverse.
After change over is completed and when Union has finally got the road, she blew her whistle which made me jump even though i was expecting it, she departed at 19:42 11 minutes and to do the rest of the journey back to London Victoria!
