SECOND VIDEO POSTING 7-22-15
I have collaborated with my physical therapist Jill Hoef's of Body Align Physical Therapy in NYC/NJ area, to bring important and relevant information to you regarding diastasis recti.
I had it after my second pregnancy in 2011 and began treating it when I became pregnant with my 3rd in 2013. Since giving birth to my 3rd via C-section (all 3 C section babies), I have since closed 2 of the 3 gaps and brought my 4+ finger gap at my naval down under 2 fingers.
I do have a small umbilical hernia from my 3rd pregnancy that I will have fixed later this year.
This is the 1st of 2 videos we did on the subject so make sure you check out both, INCLUDING also my other YT video I made on splinting!
In this video we will talk a little about:
1) What is diastasis Recti?
2) What exercises to avoid if you have it during pregnancy and pp?
3) What exercises help to strengthen your TVA?
4)What is the correct posture for neutal alignment?
5)Can I correct DR if my kids are older, is it ever too late to fix it?
6)What gap is considered problematic?
7)Do you need to avoid exercises w/1-2 finger gap?
8) What is neutral alignement for completing exercises?
