Day 1 in Melbourne starts with Mariana from Brulee who came to pick me up to St Paul’s Hostel to meet the nuns and the Lebanese elders. This Hostel started in 1995, they only have 60 rooms, 30% of which are Lebanese, we had the honor to tour the kitchen with Sister Salam Mouawad, eat with the elders, talk to each of them, and taste the delicious premium quality food.
Next, we had lunch at Levant restaurant, a café during the day, and a Lebanese restaurant at night. They have implemented real traditional food like Mjadra and Loubye bi Zeit. I liked the idea of an All-day breakfast and how they turn it by night to Arabic vibes with Shisha in a shopping mall.
I met Claude my friend and we decided to have Fish and Chips but it was a bad experience. Then we tried Sweetheart’s Gelato which has a very high review on Google, the flavors are strong but it is creamy and extra sweet.
The highlight of the day is the gathering at Brulee to support the villages of Lebanon, Mariana prepared Kebbe with smashed avocados, Mini Croissant with Thyme, popcorn falafel, Kafta bruschetta, and much more. All the guests came to support the NGNO mission for Lebanon.
