The sleeper shoulder stretch is a stretch to increase the internal rotation or posterior capsule extensibility of the shoulder. Whatever side you are stretching, you want to lie on that side, bring your arm up into about a
90-degree flexion of the shoulder and you also want to bend your elbow at 90-degrees with your other arm. You want to push down into an internal rotation position of that shoulder until you feel a gentle stretch in the back of the shoulder. Make sure that you do not feel a pinching sensation in the front of the shoulder. Hold that position for about 1 minute and repeat this 3 to 5 times.
