Hello Singers and welcome back to my channel.
Today we have a lovely exercise routine I’ve put together to enable you to strengthen your Head Voice.
This is the part of the voice where the sound is resonating or vibrating in your head - hence the name. We generally find ourselves needing to use this part of the voice when we want to sing high, soft, smooth sounds, and want to access a bit more delicacy than when we use Chest voice.
If you’re not used to singing in you Head voice it can feel a bit weak, but you need to just trust that sensation and allow yourself to let go. You might feel a gear shift, or a change in the feel as you move up into the higher notes - often accompanied by a decrease in volume and perceived power; this is completely natural and just means that you’ve moved past the break, or passagio, in your range.
Try not to push too hard with any of these exercises, keep the sound as smooth and clear as you can, and smile :-)
Practice these exercises regularly to build strength and control in your head voice, and eventually, to enable you to access and control ‘The Mix’.
Happy Singing
