Hello all and Happy Monday!
In today's video, we're working through some vocal exercises designed to help you find and strengthen your Chest Voice.
This is the part of your voice where the sound is resonating or vibrating in your chest, and where we find clear, loud, power sounds. We generally tend to sing in our chest voice when we are singing lower notes, and when we need to find real volume and power.
It can be tricky to control your chest voice if you're not used to accessing it, and it can feel like you're straining to hit higher notes. So go easy, don't push too hard, and pay attention to how your throat is feeling - if you notice too much constriction or tightness, or scratchiness; take a breath and start again - don't try to push through these sensations.
Practice these exercises regularly to build strength, control and flexibility in your chest voice, and if you want to expand up into higher ranges.
Keep smiling, breathe deep and use your power muscles to support the sound.
Happy singing :-)
