In Episode 6, we set off on our longest and most varied adventure yet aboard Dancing Bear — a six-day sailing passage along the Thames Estuary and beyond. Starting from Benfleet Yacht Club, we headed to Queenborough Harbour, then cruised up the River Medway to Medway Yacht Club. After some time alongside, we returned to Queenborough before picking up a mooring off Southend-on-Sea. From there, I set off solo, sailing Dancing Bear back down the coast and up the River Crouch to finish at Bridgemarsh Marina.
This episode is packed with estuary sailing, tidal planning, mooring techniques, solo passages, and the ever-changing conditions of the UK’s East Coast. Whether you're into long-distance UK cruising, solo sailing, or just love real-world sailing experiences, this one has it all.
