Summary Of Video
What you should know on the day you buy a sax.
Reeds come in box are not all the same. The video explains 3 ways to choose good reeds by checking arc of the rear, holding a reed on the light, and blowing from the side of mouthpiece. A reed should be symmetric and it’s good to soak a reed in water. You may rub your reed before using it.
You should know how to set a reed on mouthpiece without breaking the reed. You should not tighten the ligature too hard. The most important thing for a beginner is not to drop sax. If you need to put your saxophone on a table sometime, put your sax the right side on the bottom.
The video explains the right angle of neck and body of a sax, also how to clean up a sax with a swab, how to clean up mouthpiece and reed, and how to check out leakage of sax with a leakage light.
