Seniors Card Adventure: Train and coach, Nambucca Heads to Walcha for just $2.50 (NSW TrainLink)

In this video, we start our journey at Nambucca Heads on a Sunday morning, aboard the Brisbane to Sydney XPT that departs Nambucca Heads at 11:47 am (7 days a week) for Sydney. We travel as far as Wauchope, arriving there at 13:42.

At Wauchope, we change to a NSW TrainLink coach that takes us to Walcha. This coach departs Wauchope at 15:20 and arrives in Walcha at 17:50. The coach continues on to Tamworth, arriving there at 19:20.

After an overnight stay at the Walcha Motel and a look around town the next morning (Monday). We then head back to Wauchope aboard the NSW TrainLink coach, which departs Walcha at 09:58 and arrives back in Wauchope at 12:54.

From Wauchope, we then catch the 13:47 XPT back to Nambucca Heads, arriving there at 15:18 on Monday afternoon.

We both traveled using our Seniors Cards and purchased Country Pensioner Excursion (CPE) tickets for just $2.50 each way. The total return journey cost only $5.00.

CPE tickets can only be purchased 7 days or less before the date of departure.

You don’t have to be a pensioner to be eligible for a CPE ticket—you only need to hold a Seniors Card from any state or territory in Australia.
