The mighty Blowering Dam, nestled in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains and just a stone’s throw from Tumut. The Dam is one of NSW’s largest inland reservoirs, three times the size of Sydney Harbour!
Built in the 1960s as part of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Scheme, Blowering Dam harnesses the power of the Tumut River, storing water for irrigation, hydro-electricity—and good old-fashioned adventure.
