Creating Basic Text Effects Using Gimp

In this video I show how you can create a few basic text effects in Gimp. As I perform the demonstration, I explain or mention the following:

1. Using the Text Tool to add text to an image.
2. Setting the size of text using the Text Tool
3. Selecting the color to use with the text tool.
4. Adding a drop shadow to text to make the text stand out better.
5. Adjusting the settings on the drop shadow filter to create a glow effect.
6. Re-showing an existing filter and changing the settings after applying the effect.
7. Blend options on text filters.
8. Using multiple effects on one piece of text.
9. Changing the stacking order of text effects to change the results of the effects.
10. Applying a text effect permanently to text destructively.
11. Making a wide border to text to create a die cut sticker effect.
12. Adjusting an existing text effect to change the appearance of the effect.
13. Duplicating text that has effects so that you can get the same text "style" in the same project.
