In this presentation, German nurseryman Christian Kress will talk about his life as a passionate perennial gardener. He will introduce his internationally known nursery, Sarastro Stauden, located in Austria. Here, he offers up to 4,000 different hardy, herbaceous perennials but also tell stories about his botanic excursions not only within Austria but to many different countries such as Iran, Kirgizstan, Turkey, and New Zealand. Inspired by great role models such as Karl Foerster, he loves to share his passion about rare perennials that maintain and expand biological diversity in our horticulture industry. This evening, he will be speaking about unique natural habitats and the perennials that live in them, as well some history and vision behind his beautiful nursery in the Austrian lowlands.
