Experience a beautiful Lakeland route as we walk up Holme Fell, one of the most scenic yet lesser-known Wainwright Fells in the Lake District. This peaceful Wainwright walk offers a perfect mix of woodland trails, historical landmarks, and far-reaching views — ideal for walkers, sketchers, and lovers of quiet fells.

👉 Route Overview:
We begin at Yew Tree Tarn, head through woodland to Glen Mary Bridge, pass the famous Yew Tree Farm, and continue via Shepherd's Bridge and Hodge Close Quarry. From there, we climb past the old reservoirs to Ivy Crag and on to the summit of Holme Fell — before descending through Uskdale Gap and returning to the start.

🎨 Along the way, I share thoughts on finding painting inspiration, Wainwright’s reasons for including Holme Fell in his guides, and the joy of walking these quieter Wainwright fells at a relaxed pace.
