Kayaking the Manistee River, hiking along the North Country Trail, and sleeping under the stars; a full immersion weekend retreat.
This was my sisters first ever kayak adventure, first ever tent sleep and first outdoors weekend retreat!
I chose to paddle the backwaters of Tippy Dam, giving her a calm and tranquil experience for her first kayak. I chime a private location for base camp, allowing us the opportunity to be alone and enjoy the experience just the two of us, and to be less intimidating. We enjoyed a lovely hike on a section the NCT through lush forests and a view of the Manistee River, where we sat and enjoyed a quick lunch and snacks.
Outdoor adventures don’t have to be complicated and over detailed, especially when you are just beginning your outdoors journey. Keep it simple, nature will provide all you need in the moment.
