Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (Legacy of Thieves Collection)
Setup: MacBook Pro M4 Pro 24GB 14CPU/20GPU, macOS 15.7.1 Sequoia, CrossOver 26 Preview 20251216, GPTK 3.0, D3DMetal, MSync.
Settings: 1440p resolution, High graphics preset with Ultra textures, Render scale set to 70%, HDR On.
The performance averages over 60 FPS without screen recording (estimate). HDPI screen recording at 1440p has more than usual impact on performance (~20%).
Although the game runs with relatively good frame rates, there are some slowdowns in some areas (the crowded auction scene in the video is an example) and some stutters.
MAJOR ISSUE: The game has one of the worst "memory leak" problems with CrossOver. It will run out of RAM in no time, especially on a 16GB RAM Mac.
On a 24GB M4 Pro, a gaming session will be between 20 to 35 minutes until the memory problem makes the game unplayable. I have seen 43GB memory usage on the Metal HUD while the game was still responsive. But at this point, it is better to save and restart the game.
In addition to the ever-increasing memory usage problem, there are other issues as well:
1. There is no "exclusive fullscreen" mode. "Borderless" and "Windowed" are the only options.
2. The game supports FRS 2 upscaling on macOS 15 Sequoia but it cannot be enabled for some reason. Using CrossOver 26 Preview, both DLSS 2 and FSR 2 upscaling can be used on macOS 26 Tahoe.
3 The game might have crackling audio. If that is the case, using audio midi setup app and then setting sample rate of the audio autput device to 96kHz (if it is an available option) fixes it.
