皮影戏起源于汉朝时的陕西，兴于唐朝的山西、河南一带，盛于清朝的河北，而后随着历史发展传入腾冲，与当地文化巧妙地融合在一起。
Shadow play originated in Shaanxi during the Han Dynasty, flourished in Shanxi and Henan during the Tang Dynasty, and reached its peak in Hebei during the Qing Dynasty. It later spread to Tengchong, where it seamlessly integrated with the local culture.
