This 15th Century Recipe is a Little TOO HEALTHY

This Flemish recipe from the 15th century is simple but very interesting. Applesauce is loved by most, myself included but when i saw the "mystery ingredient" added into this recipe I had to try it out myself to see why anyone would make this.
Healthy doesn't even begin to describe this dish. There is almond milk, cinnamon, ginger, saffron, apples, and yes, cod liver.
All those vitamins and omegas!
Some form of applesauce has been around for thousands of years and records of use date back to the romans. Medieval applesauce is interesting with the combination with different meats, and in this case during lent, with fish.
I had ups and downs while making this but after tasting, I was blown away. blown away by how bad this tastes. (said in with the long dramatic Gordon Ramsay pause)
I have seen modern day recipes online that call for a mix of applesauce and cod. So maybe this is just me hating on this. I would say try it yourself but this time I say don't waste your time. I would love to see Tasting History with Max Miller try this recipe out though, just to see his reaction to it.
