No Room for Cyclists on Grote Markt?

Cyclists and Pedestrians regularly clash on Groningen’s main market square, the Grote Markt. After a major redesign, the square is now supposed to be a shared space, with a few specific cycle routes. But cyclists still follow the old, now disappeared routes, that are now turned into pedestrians areas.
This sets some bad blood between cyclists and pedestrians, who both blame each other for being in the wrong place. Is there a solution to this prickly problem?
